The subjects that make up the Master’s Degree in Humanistic and Social Studies are designed to provide students with a deep, precise and open vision of the great philosophical and cultural problems in the light of classical thought, particularly that of St. Thomas Aquinas.
The teaching approach responds to the intention of training students especially in order to research, arousing in them an autonomous reflection that moves them to creatively raise questions appropriate to each area.
Familiarization with the handling of bibliography and sources in general, the ability to diagnose a state of the question, as well as the faculty to argue rationally in favor of a certain position are the three axes on which the teaching is organized.

Aller (asturiano: Ayer) es un municipio de la Comunidad Autónoma del Principado de Asturias, España. Limita al norte con Mieres, al sur con la provincia de León, al este con Laviana, Caso y Sobrescobio, y al oeste con Lena.
El municipio está atravesado por el río Aller, que desemboca en el Caudal. Cerca de la confluencia, el Aller forma un profundo valle entre escarpadas laderas cubiertas de bosque. El municipio, junto con los de Lena y Mieres, forma la cuenca carbonífera del Caudal. La principal actividad económica ha sido la minería del carbón, sobre todo en la parte baja del valle, aunque también son importantes la agricultura y la ganadería. Las torres de las minas de carbón y los edificios de las comunidades mineras dominan el paisaje.
